PAR Technology is seeking a qualified Human Resources Director to support our Restaurant / Retail business unit. As a strategic partner, the HR Director will align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The incumbent will also serve as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues and will act as an employee champion and change agent. He or she will communicate needs proactively with the HR department and business management, and seek to develop integrated solutions. The successful incumbent will maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture and its competition.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Be a leader within the HR team while empowering each function to support the business toward the overall company initiatives
Implement customary HR programs to help the business attract, retain and motivate talent. This includes: performance management, compensation cycles, awards and staffing/recruiting initiatives
Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values
Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; and, establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives
Consult with line management and providing HR guidance when appropriate
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with Legal department as needed/required
Leverage organizational assessment and design methodology to improve productivity
Own productivity by maximizing talent and workplanning processes
Lead HR personnel including Talent and/or Comp and Benefit practice
Provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning
Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met
Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Minimum of 5 years in a management-level Human Resources position
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
Ability to influence
