The Email Marketing Specialist works across all areas of eCommerce and Marketing with a heavy emphasis on end-to-end email campaign and program management (including initiation of conception, creative, production, deployment and tracking). The Email Marketing Specialist will support a fast-paced, interdepartmental team focused on driving customer engagement through email newsletters, trigger communications, lifecycle marketing and promotional campaigns. The Email Marketing Specialist ensures that all email marketing initiatives are executed on time, and in accordance with business goals and established metrics.
The Email Marketing Specialist also works within the broader eCommerce and Marketing teams to positively affect customer conversion, satisfaction and retention. The ultimate goal is to create a compelling, relevant, and consistent customer experience that carries through the customer lifecycle.
The Email Marketing Specialist also works with the Marketing Media Manager for online marketing campaign coordination (SEM, Affiliate, etc.) and administration/maintenance of multiple informational and project management databases.

The Email Marketing Specialist has a tactical role in the online and offline marketing and promotional implementation processes including tracking code/promotion code set-up, assist in email scheduling, data entry and communication of all marketing initiatives to the front lines of the business (Customer Contact Center). 50%
Coordinates with Media team to ensure all advertising/marketing communication databases used by the front line of the business, specifically for the Customer Contact Center, such as: Lotus Notes Marketing Communication database, Marketing Activity Calendar, Promo/Tracking code Spreadsheet, Email Campaign Schedule, Basecamp Marketing Calendars and any other schedules or databases required by Media Manager and Email Marketing Manager. 20%
Assists in data gathering and reporting to determine success of HCRC marketing initiatives and promotions. 15%
Responsible for customer list pulls, list hygiene and list loads for email and print marketing as instructed by the Media Manager and the Email Marketing Manager. 15%
Other Essential Responsibilities:
Develop programming calendars and project schedules.
Work with Product and Marketing teams in execution of email communications to support events, promotional offers, and lifecycle marketing.
Oversee daily email operations, coordinate with Email Production & QA to ensure that emails are completed & deployed on time.
Maintain email calendar, including changes to schedule – ensure that changes are properly documented and communicated to all interactive teams.
Coordinate activities of design, content and technical teams to meet multiple, interdependent deadlines.
Communicate with Analytics and Business Intelligence team to ensure that all tracking codes are set on time and accurately.
Deploy emails and monitor any deliverability issues, escalating to ESP deliverability team when necessary.
Manage requests for custom email projects, helping to gather business requirements, defining the product set & operational processes, project managing the roll-out, develop documentation and helping to coordinate across teams the triage & maintenance of any issues.
Log & monitor web development bugs affecting the email marketing program to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner.
Serve as main point person between marketing team & ESP for any operational or production questions and/or initiatives.
Assist Email Marketing Manager in design and oversee implementation of A/B tests.
Education & Knowledge Required
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, eCommerce, communications, business administration, or other relevant field of study preferred.
Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
Minimum of 1-3 years eMail marketing experience required. Experience in other eCommerce and marketing best practices preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with a basic understanding/knowledge of project management methodologies. Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications a must. Familiarity with database programs such as MS Access. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge HTML, Design and Content Management Systems.
