As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role helping to advance Ripple's production infrastructure and release pipelines. Platform Engineers at Ripple are a hybrid of systems and software engineers who support the design and lifecycle of our hosted products. You will work closely with product engineers to provide guidance, automation, and development of platform features.

What you'll do:
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain Ripple's multi-region, multi-provider service platforms (with an emphasis on security and resiliency)
  • Design and develop tools for automation, monitoring and instrumentation
  • Create solutions for unique technical challenges faced by Ripple involving PKI, secret management, geographic failover and data replication
  • Collaborate with product engineering to ensure code is production-ready
  • Research promising new tools and technologies - push the team to experiment and evolve
  • Participate in a robust and fair on-call framework
What you might look like:
  • Solid development background with Go, Python, Java, or C++
  • Experience designing and operating large scale, multi-region service platforms
  • Experience developing APIs and SDKs
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructures, particularly AWS
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, etc)
  • Comfortable troubleshooting Raft, SSTable, and job scheduling issues
  • Unwilling to show fear when confronted with the JVM
  • Security awareness, with an emphasis on designing for security best practices
  • 7-10+ years experience working in Technical Operations / DevOps / System Administration
  • A desire to get the best out of everyone on their team
  • Startup experience a big plus
