Summary

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is one of the nation's largest manufacturers of metal roof and wall panels for residential and commercial building construction. We have an exciting opportunity to join our sales team as a Market Development and Training Manager. This position reports to our VP of Sales and has broad responsibility to support sales and market share growth through the development, planning and execution of Metal Sales Manufacturing’s various training programs. This includes “training the trainer” so that our field sales team is capable of delivering impactful Product Knowledge sessions; developing and conducting installation training for our sales team, customers and contractors; and developing and executing “How to Sell Metal” programs for our customers.

Additionally, this position develops and implements Metal Sales Manufacturing’s strategy for growing the residential roofing segment and will direct our Preferred Contractor program. This role is responsible for developing training to certify commercial contractors as part of the company’s growth strategies for the commercial metal roof and wall market. An indicator of success in this position is to see an increase in customer preference for Metal Sales Manufacturing products versus our competition.

Expected travel is up to 75%.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
Developing, maintaining and executing the training strategy to support market growth and development. This includes topics on proper installation, how to sell metal building products, and advantages of Metal Sales Manufacturing product offerings.
Coaching, mentoring and educating our direct sales team on the various training programs available to them and our valued customers.
Fostering a close working relationship with National Account Managers, Territory Sales Managers, Regional Vice Presidents of Sales, Corporate Marketing, Corporate Tech Services and Manufacturing Plant General Managers.
Coordinating and working closely with Territory Sales Managers and Regional Vice Presidents of Sales to identify training needs for their regions.
Planning and conducting installation training in direct coordination with our customer base and sales team.
Creating strategies and promotional programs aimed at our customers and contractors with the goal of growing the number of certified and trained contractors.
Planning and conducting other training to help our customers grow their share of the metal roofing business in their markets, by attracting new contractors and achieving incremental sales with their key contractors.
Managing the Preferred Contractor Program and developing strategies to create more pull-through sales for our distribution partners.
Working and coordinating with Director of Commercial, Industrial and Architectural to assist with the development of AIA certified training program.
Administrative duties such as maintaining a training calendar, submitting required reports in a timely manner, and utilizing CRM to track key contacts and progress with the various programs.
Achieving or exceeding annual sales and margin objectives for any accounts that may be assigned.
Making product line recommendations to include new products, resale items, and accessories.
Continuously monitoring competitive situations and implementing aggressive plans to defend and grow our market position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

The most qualified candidates will have:
At least 5 years of experience in the building materials industry, metal roofing exposure strongly preferred
Proven track record of developing a deep understanding of customer and market needs
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with any level in an organization
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high growth, and hands on environment
Ability to self-motivate, multi-task, work independently and as part of a team
Unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and commitment by conducting business with integrity and high ethical standards
Intermediate computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Bachelor’s degree in business preferred
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
