We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer for our New York, NY office. This is an mid-level position for an eager engineer to influence production of engineering design for a national client base in an nationally recognized global firm in a field designated for expansion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Performing central power/heating & refrigeration plant (co-generation, combined heat and power, boiler, chiller, emergency generation, trigeneration) as well as heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC) engineering.
Project assignments may include, although not be limited to, combined heat and power plants, refrigeration plants, co-generation facilities, healthcare facilities and industrial facilities.
The candidate will design for industrial, commercial and institutional projects and may include the following functions:
Preparation of design criteria documents including pre-feasibility and feasibility studies; calculations; drawings and specifications for central plant systems including energy load modeling; equipment sizing and selection; equipment, piping and ductwork systems design; heating and cooling load calculations; design and layout of mechanical rooms for central plants; chilled and hot water systems; constant volume and variable air volume systems,
Development of technical specifications for equipment and material.
Development of costs estimates for systems.
Actively participates in post design consultation activities and represents the company in client meetings through construction completion
Actively mentors junior engineers and designers
Provide timely billing of projects to accounting department
Follows established work rules, policies and procedures
Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costs
Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assigned

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required, EIT and/or PE preferred
Minimum of 5-8 years experience
Experience to include: Facilities surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, construction activity support, owner's engineer for central plant projects.
Expert knowledge of building codes and standards
Knowledge of Engineering drafting standards
Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering standards and other trades
Demonstrable understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawings.
Knowledge of AutoCad, REVIT and Microsoft Office suite
Good communication skills
