This leader will be responsible for driving growth in our Formulary product offering. Initial focus is on Commercial & Marketplace formulary designs but role may expand to include other lines of business. This will focus on 1) building innovative products that secure our position as the market leader in payor focused solutions and 2) evolving solutions to address emerging pharmacy cost trends to ensure best in class management of cost and quality of care. In this role, the leader will be responsible for managing a team and portfolio of solutions that manage cost, utilization and quality for specialty and non-specialty medications managed through Pharmacy benefit. Leader will be responsible for developing a robust product roadmap based on current and anticipated market trends, and working across the organization to deliver new and market leading solutions to market.
- Collaborate across organization – Product, Clinical, Operations, Finance, Legal, Sales, Trade Relations, Marketing – to develop strategies that provide winning solutions to manage specialty and non-specialty therapies in market and in pipeline
- Build and execute product roadmap that solves payor needs, which also consider the needs of providers and patients, including but not limited to:
o Ensuring execution of formulary designs and changes to address client custom needs, utilizing member needs and ensure performance for both client cost management and CVS Health objectives
o Innovative Formulary approaches
o Surveillance of the market, client needs and current product performance to guide future development and in-product changes
o Suite of solutions that are clearly aligned to customer needs to enable both the win and retention of PBM clients
o Solutions that lead competitor offerings, both PBM and UM specific vendors
- Recruit, develop and retain high performing individuals within the Product Development department
- Build and strengthen internal relationships to support overall product alignment within the organization
- Ensure all products remain customer focused by ensuring close connection to sales, consultant and competitive intel teams
10 yrs.+ experience leading clinical product innovation, with focus on formulary designs with an in-depth understanding of marketplace dynamics to anticipate and address emerging market needs
Ability to manage a multi-million P&L and direct a team responsible for developing, building and managing end to end solutions
Ability to frame complex problems and develop solutions that address multiple interests with minimal guidance and direction - trusted team member with considerable autonomy to shape strategic direction of offerings.
