Rutgers, School of Public Health, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Urban-Global Health Department. Under the direction of the Project Director, the Temporary Research Assistant will provide a range of research and programmatic activities in support of the Criminal Justice & Cancer Health Prevention Lab.
Assists the Principal Investigator with the development of new and existing programs and research studies.
Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data.
Assists in project planning, and ensures that the work scope, study procedures and IRB requirements of the research project activities are followed and completed.
Assists with writing grant applications and funding proposals.
Collaborates with the Project Director in preparing manuscripts, reports, and summaries for publications.
Travels to research sites in Pennsylvania.

Minimum Education and Experience
Must have a minimum of 1-year direct service working with vulnerable and hardly reached populations.
Must have experience working with criminal justice system-involved adults.
Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Strong data management and analytical skills required.
Must have a working knowledge of health disparities.
Must have the flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of health disparities, health promotion, and health education.
Must know how to use Nvivo, SPSS, or SAS.
Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle and be willing to travel to research sites in Pennsylvania.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to work 16 hours a week.
