The Cytogenetics Cancer Lead functions as a technical resource for all staff. The responsibilities also include development and coordination of training and competency, orientation of employees, direction of daily workflow, and troubleshooting. The Cancer Lead will work closely with the Technical supervisor to provide input on personnel issues, performance appraisals, and quality assurance. The Technical Lead will also promote a healthy work environment.
Bachelor's degree in a related laboratory field including the related practicum or equivalent routes as specified in CLIA'88. Prefer BS in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, or Cytogenetics.
Minimum two years of experience in Cancer Cytogenetic Gband Analysis
Applicant should possess appropriate HHS approved laboratory certification such as a MLS/MT (ASCP or AMT) or CG(ASCP). HEW certification is also recognized.
