Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to join Beyond Life Hospice team. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting our patients, performing diagnostic evaluations, maintaining medical records, and ensuring infection control measures are followed.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Conduct physical examinations and record patient vital signs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide patient education on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or physician
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
-Strong Spanish and English speaking skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and medical terminology
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments
- Familiarity with coding procedures and medical record documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of infection control practices to prevent the spread of diseases
