Auction.com seeks a Principal Program Manager to define program strategy, goals, processes and requirements for launching new products, technologies, business models and markets to drive great buyer and seller experiences with our online platform.
This role leads cross-functional teams of business and technology stakeholders through the end-to-end process from design through delivery and owns the success metrics for the program. This position requires process improvement, broad technical knowledge and skills across many applications and platforms. This role requires great communication skills to engage with executive management stakeholders on program strategy, goals, status, success metrics, test and learn results, and adaptive approaches necessary to address evolving business climate.
Responsibilities
- Drive the delivery of strategic initiatives demonstrating strong leadership, structure, teamwork and critical thinking to organize successful delivery of multiple projects within the initiative.
- Work with cross-functional teams to establish and manage realistic and committed initiative schedules, taking into consideration deadlines, dependencies, resources and costs when making changes and decisions to schedule.
- Act as a trusted advisor on long-range plans and facilitate long range planning exercises with cross-functional teams of business and technology leaders.
- Facilitate assessment, proof of concepts, test and learns, and planning for new product development ideas, new technology implementation, and new market expansion and prepare assessment reports, plans and implementation models for presentation to executive leadership.
- Incorporate change management strategies to fuel the adoption of new processes, policies, practices and business models needed to support implementation of hyper-performing Scrum teams.
- Communicate status and critical path aspects of the product area; deliver messages that are clear and concise; engage and maintain strong working relationships with executive and senior management leadership for the overall success of the product area.
- Partner with Business, Product and Technology leaders to identify key performance indicators (KPI) of the initiatives and define the tracking and reporting mechanisms.
- Partner with Marketing, internal Communications, Operations, Training and Marketing teams to develop and orchestrate strategies, milestones and deliverables required to effective Change Management.
- Partner effectively with both local and remote teams and external partners using various communication methodologies to promote team collaboration.
Qualifications
- 10+ of experience successfully managing end to end business technology or consulting programs.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, problem solving, communication, marketing, and program management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with executive leaders on strategy, risks, metrics and goals using a data driven approach to make tradeoffs necessary for successful execution.
- Expertise assessing viability of new products or technologies and developing assessment reports to highlight SWOT analysis for the benefit of cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective in communicating across all levels of the organization from developers to executive management to partner clients.
- Experience with change management techniques for boosting adoption of transformational initiatives.
- Business acumen combined with technical background.
- Possess entrepreneurial spirit and initiative with desire to contribute to a fast-paced organization.
- Proven expertise at driving projects through entire SDLC creating schedules managing expectations and risks.
- Experience with facilitating and/or coaching scrum teams to adopt scrum ceremonies and deliver potentially shippable products.
- Experience making and giving presentations for technical/non-technical senior management.
- Experience developing SaaS products and technologies.
- BS in business management information systems or related technical field.
- Certified Scrum Master - Required
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) – strong plus
- Proficiency needed on MS Project, MS Office Suite, Sharepoint, JIRA and Confluence
