Transmission Development Validation Engineer


The Role:
Are you looking for a hands on engineering position in a team that effects every vehicle General Motors sells globally? If so, the Global Transmission & Electrification (GT&E) development & validation team is looking for several Development/Validation Engineers (DVE's) to work on a variety of current and new products.

Develop and validate hardware to optimize system performance (improve durability/reliability, improve fuel economy, reduce cost/mass, etc.)
Perform system modeling
Plan & execute system testing
Managing instrumentation
Define required design features
Work with component engineers to develop designs to meet/exceed requirements & customer expectations
Validate products meet system level durability / reliability requirements
Lead root cause and resolution of concerns identified during testing and issues found in the field
Interface with leadership, DRE’s, calibrators, component test engineers and technicians
Support assembly plants as needed
Performs DRBTR's and creates the end of test report

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Highly developed oral and written communication skills
Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience
Someone who challenges themselves and their peers
Enthusiasm & ability to solve complex technical problems that can be unusual and difficult
High level of analytical & practical problem solving skills
Ability to think outside the box and challenge current processes
Ambition to get things done and overcome obstacles
Ability to communicate across functions and global alliances

Preferred Skills and Experience:
Advanced degree
Powertrain system development and/or validation experience
Familiarity with dyno testing and control
Calibration knowledge
ETAS Inca experience
DFSS Certification
Red-X experience
