Job Summary

The District Sales Manager is responsible for executing the company's sales strategy and achieving sales goals by managing and developing accounts in their assigned district. The District Sales Manager leads, manages and holds their Sales team accountable while maintaining key account relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Hire, train, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action within assigned sales team
Plan, develop, recommend, and implement changes to assigned sales team
Create weekly schedule for the Account Manager in Training and review time clock for approval
Assist Account Managers in creating weekly route plan and call frequency for accounts
Oversee and assist in selling beverages to customers and ensuring the accurate and timely merchandising of all Imperial Beverage products
Achieve district sales goals
Evaluate account standards in market
Maintain relationships with all target market accounts in assigned district
Schedule and conduct sales calls with all assigned chain corporate buyers, which includes proposing new product, displays, promotions, and ads into accounts with the aid of thoroughly prepared sales presentations
Manage the execution of special events, especially by ensuring sales team support at events
Identify and contact prospective customers to discuss needs and approve new accounts when a successful relationship can be achieved
Evaluate sales route by comparing sales from each year and identifying issues
Setup and facilitate internal weekly sales meetings
Set and manage the go-to-market strategy for assigned district
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service
Be part of the community you live in to build rapport and positively contribute to Imperial's reputation
Attend product tastings, sales meetings, conferences and trade shows, as required
Stay up-to-date on new products and the changing needs of the market

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent education and experience) in Sales and Business Marketing
2+ years' experience in management
1+ years' experience with beverage sales and/or Direct Store Delivery (DSD)
Advanced knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
21 years of age or older
Leadership skills to direct employees and oversee department operations
Must possess superior communication, presentation skills, customer service skills, confidentiality and professionalism
Decision-making skills to decide the best course of action, especially when impacting employees
Strong analytical skills and numeric ability
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to coordinate processes and work well with various departments
Flexibility to work varying hours to accommodate customer needs and special events
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with various types of people
Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines and follow through until completion
Self-starter, highly motivated with a high productivity level
Desire to stay up-to-date on industry trends and product knowledge
Display confidence, reliability, persistence and composure
Ability to problem solve quickly and efficiently
Ability to attain a Michigan Liquor Control Commission license
Valid Driver's License with no restriction
Must live in assigned market or specifically designated area
