Role and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of the janitorial contract for The Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
- Oversees Custodial team which is composed of individuals with disabilities.
- Supervises small crew of Custodial Workers, to include performance evaluations, leave requests, and initiating disciplinary recommendations.
- Plans, schedules, and monitors the work of Custodial team.
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising staff members to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
- Responsible for maintaining, tracking, computing, and adjustments to attendance records and payroll.
- Complies with all established company policies and procedures while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data.
- Participates in all phases of custodial work.
- Inspects work in progress and upon completion.
- Inspects buildings and equipment to determine the need for cleaning.
- Reports the need for building repairs.
- Orders and maintains the appropriate tools, equipment, supplies, and other materials needed for cleaning and maintaining buildings and/or surrounding areas.
- Maintains records, prepares activity reports, and requisitions for supplies and equipment when necessary.
- May train Custodial Workers on the proper use of equipment and materials.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- Minimum of (2) years’ supervisory experience
- Minimum of (1) year Janitorial experience
- Experience working with persons with disabilities or disabling conditions (Preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of how to operate in a managerial role.
- Knowledge of how to effectively schedule workers.
- Familiarity with Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to organize and establish work processes.
Obtaining and maintaining the appropriate Security Clearance is required to access the primary worksite. Obtaining Securing Clearance can be a lengthy process and will be discussed during the initial interview. Everyone is encouraged to apply! CW staff will help throughout the entire process.
