HVAC Service Technician

HVAC Journeyman Responsibilities-
- Performing preventative and routine maintenance by cleaning reheat coils and air handling units, and monitoring and calibrating air handling units
- Removing old systems and installing new systems
- Improving air quality by cleaning ducts to optimize efficiency
- Fixing, replacing and adjusting vents, and ductwork
- Ensuring condensation drain line is free of debris and draining properly
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
- Test and troubleshoot installations after completion
- Training junior team members
- Communicating with clients and customer
- Ordering and maintaining equipment
- Meeting local HVAC codes
- Maintaining service truck
Requirements:
- 2+ year HVAC experience
- EPA Certification or actively working on it, required
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and Mechanical experience
- Commercial and Residential experience
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
- Sheet metal work or refrigeration experience
- Proficient electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in reading schematics, blueprint reading skills and work plans
- Physically agile, dexterous, and able to work in confined spaces
- Requires local travel within assigned region Extensive driving may be required
- Complete Background and Drug Test
- Carrying/Lifting: Lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Standing: Maximum Standing

- Crawling Maximum crawling
- Repetitive Motion: Use of tools
- Visual Acuity: Able to use Respirator without obstruction able view with or without corrective devices
- Environment exposure: Hazardous Materials
- Other: Ability to hear and speak for telephone use is required
A base tech wage for a tech that has some install and service experience already (2+ years experience) is $30/hr- DOE
Journeyman level 5+ yrs tech starts at about $30-$45 DOE
