The Central Texas Food Bank is looking for a dynamic Program Coordinator working in our Programs department. The Program Coordinator is a key member of the Child Hunger Strategy Team (CHST) and helps to administer the Central Texas Food Bank’s children’s meal programming, including Kids Cafe, BackPack Program, and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This position supports primarily external program operations of the Food Bank’s children’s meal programs. External support includes playing a key role in developing strong partnerships with program partners through regular communication and the provision of technical assistance as needed. The Program Coordinator is integral in the facilitation of the successful daily meal delivery to afterschool and summer meal partners.
As a Program Coordinator, you will
- Communicate daily with the Central Texas Food Bank’s program partners to ensure smooth operations of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), including meal-ordering, delivery, and reporting.
- Assist with placing daily meal orders as needed.
- Assist with preparation of essential documentation and materials such as meal orders, packing labels, and delivery tickets for Kitchen and Transportation staff daily, as needed.
- Communicate with program partners during meal delivery to ensure proper communication with meal delivery drivers.
- Work with the Child Hunger Strategy Team to document all processes and procedures and work to improve upon existing operating procedures with program partners; participate in long- and short-term program planning and development.
- Actively participate in team processes to create a high functioning support system for program partners.
- Provide training, technical assistance, and other customer service support for program partners as needed; orient new and current program partners to Food Bank program policies and procedures.
- Conduct site visits and reviews for compliance with Food Bank, USDA, and Feeding America Guidelines.
- Maintain program partner files in compliance with Food Bank, USDA, and Feeding America standards, including health department documentation, food safety certifications, site review paperwork, and more.
- Coordinate scheduling and follow-up of site visits and reviews among all members of the Child Hunger Strategy Team, as assigned.
- Work with program partners to ensure accurate and timely completion of daily meal service reporting forms through Link2Feed and weekly BackPack reporting forms.
- Track program participation at Children’s Program partner sites; track participation issues and opportunities for program growth.
- Use in-house data tracking tools and reporting software to account for all meals distributed to partner sites.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of federal nutrition program guidelines and standards.

- Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA): Public policy, Social Work, Business or related field required. Experience with program administration and data entry in a professional office setting
- Experience working with volunteers and families of varying socio-economic backgrounds.
- Experience with program development and implementation.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and written and verbal communications skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Proficiency with the Internet and learning new technology.
- Good judgment and discretion.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups on complex community issues.
- Ability to represent the Food Bank in a professional manner under a variety of conditions.
- Ability to successfully manage regular communications with and provide excellent customer service to Food Bank program partners.
