Position Description

Argonne National Laboratory is seeking an outstanding Molecular Biologist/Microbiologist. The incumbent will write reports and presentations; perform research aimed to construct producing strains based on genomics and Machine Learning inputs, manage genomic resources, design and construct regulated gene modules consisting of re-coded genes from a variety of relevant microorganisms, construct host strains, and supervise a variety of maintenance activities.

Position Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge and skill in industrial production of amino acids by bacterial fermentation.
Considerable knowledge in Molecular Biology and Microbiology.
Considerable knowledge in Bacterial Physiology and metabolism.
Considerable knowledge in Biochemistry and enzyme assays.
Considerable knowledge in gene expression in microbial systems.
Considerable knowledge of genomic techniques.
Skills in oral and written communication.
Ability to model Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork.

RD3 Requirements: Bachelor's and 8+ years, or Master's and 5+, or Doctorate and 4+ years, or equivalent.
RD4 Requirements: Bachelor's and 12+ years, or Master's and 7+, or Doctorate and 6+ years, or equivalent.
