Sr. Communications Strategist

ICF is hiring an experienced marketing and communications senior associate to join our marketing team. The communications specialist will assist in planning, developing, and implementing communications, marketing, and advertising strategies that support our government clients at the federal, state, and local levels. We want someone who is passionate about our clients’ issues, eager to jump into new work, and the skills and attitude to be successful. This position can be remote. Minimal travel is required.
Responsibilities include:
  • Researching, drafting, and implementing strategic communications plans
  • Developing articles, press releases, newsletters, email campaigns, presentations, web copy, fact sheets, talking points, scripts, and social media on behalf of clients
  • Strategizing and managing social media outreach
  • Developing and implementing content calendars
  • Managing client events for up to 200 attendees
  • Supporting client relations, including routine communications (agendas, meeting notices, follow up notes), basic budget management, and client satisfaction
  • Developing and supporting internal account management processes and owning project timelines
  • Coordinating projects with internal teams, including Creative Services, Digital Technology Solutions, and other ICF teams.

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising or related major
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing and communications with emphasis in public relations or social media utilizing strategic communication plans
  • Detail oriented and strong work ethic
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to adapt writing style to different audiences
Preferred Experience:
  • Ability to quickly grasp complicated material and create easy-to-understand content
  • Experience developing material for a variety of channels (e.g. print, web, broadcast, social media)
  • Experience with content management systems and/or email marketing systems
  • Strong understanding of various communication channels and how they work (print and broadcast media, social media, media relations)
  • Experience working in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Experience with creative design in print and digital media
