The Patient Advocate is responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of the patient’s outstanding balance as well as communicating effectively with team members within the AR/Collections Department. This position involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.
Responsibilities:
· Provides timely and accurate information to incoming patient inquires on balances.
· Negotiates payment plans according to specified guidelines.
· Generates correspondence to patients regarding balances.
· Works closely with the Manager and A/R Specialist to resolve disputed items.
· Provides timely feedback to the department Manager regarding patient concerns.
· Partners with the team to meet and exceed customer’s service expectations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required
- Customer Service: 2 + years (Preferred)
- Call Center: 2 + years (Preferred)
- Self-Pay Collections: 2 + years (Preferred)
- Spanish: Fluent in Reading, Writing and Speaking (Required)
Schedule
- Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm
REASONING ABILITY
· Fluent speaker in Spanish and English
. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent: draw and interpret bar graphs
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
COMPUTER SKILLS
· Intermediate computer skills, Excel spreadsheets, Google Docs and Microsoft Word

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
