Applied Mememtics LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer - Mid / Senior to provide support on the Census 2020 program. This work is located at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC. US citizenship or US Green Card holders are required for this role.
Formulate and define various system and infrastructure architecture diagrams
Specify functional system engineering design requirements
Provide input and guidance into technical security solutions to protect various data channels
Perform work under guidance of Senior Systems Engineer
Recommend and facilitate quality improvement efforts
Can aid in decision-making process to meet organizational objectives
Design and implement system security and data assurance.
Test software applications and systems
Apply knowledge of computing systems and software structure
Work with QA and Software Engineers to improve overall development and test processes
Report and analyze test results to ensure functionality and quality
Execute test plans and strategies
Perform work with minimal direction
Identify departmental needs and make suggestions based on analysis business processes, models, or systems integration
Understanding of SOA principles and familiarity
Strong ability to analyze requirements and convert to detailed test cases (positive, negative, exceptions, etc…)
Evaluate data collected through task analysis, business process survey and workshops
Ability to resolve problems independently
Prepare accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents, user interface guides, and functional specification documents
Communicate effectively with external clients and internal teams to deliver product’s functional requirements (for example, screen, interface, and GUI designs)
Document the acquired results of analysis and workflows, and obtain sign-off from the appropriate client
Determine issues in service and software by coordinating with the groups within the business unit who test, validate, and evaluate new applications and functions
Collect, analyze, and document functional, business, and technical requirements and transferring the same knowledge to development teams
Understanding of latest software development methodologies
Application database and integration across computing platforms
Excellent knowledge of system design, analysis, requirements gathering
Must have the background of a senior business/requirements analyst, but can see the big picture to add to application design, usabiity, and end-to-end vision.
Strong English language skills are required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required
Experience with enterprise-level test
Experience in Agile environment
Scripting (VBScript, Perl, Python)
Performance testing concepts
Enterprise-level test automation frameworks
Some programming languages and technologies (Node.js, Java, .NET, etc.)
Experience with configuring and setting up Active Directory Federated Services, to include setting up trust relationships, claims configuration, as well as setting up and installing ADFS.
Experience with installing and configuring F5 load balancers, to include utilizing iRules to route traffic
Configuring and installing Virtual Private Networks
Some experience with assisting programs achieve FISMA compliance and/ or familiarity with NIST 800-53a rev4 security standards
Proficiency with SOAP UI.
Defect identification, reporting, and management experience
Understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques, such as front-end functional testing, system integration testing, performance and load testing
Redmine, ADFS, Rational Team Concert, Rational Quality Management, Rational DOORS, MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint, HP UFT/QTP, HP Quality Center, Selenium, SoapUI, HP Performance Center/LoadRunner, Windows, Oracle, CloudBees, Jenkins
Six (6) years (mid-level) / ten (10) years (senior) of experience is required with a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline.
