Western Zone Distribution Sales Manager, Food Service

This role will be responsible for achieving sales and margin growth in an assigned geographic Zone focusing on distributors, distributor relationships, distributor groups (as assigned) and broker management.

This position interfaces with Customers (Distributors & End Users) ·Brokers ·Customer Service ·Operations ·Marketing and Credit

Primary duties:

  • Manage current Western Zone distributors and brokers to achieve sales goals and objectives
  • Communicate with the National Manager of Foodservice regularly
  • concerning progress of strategic plan and actions needed, if any, to guarantee success
  • Responsible for corporate relationship with Labatt, FSA, Shamrock and Nicholas – will also assist National Sales Manager with regional Restaurant Depot and specific relationships as needed
  • Zone Distributor Sales Manager will work independently with
  • distributors and with broker personnel to achieve sales and profitability for Zone by engaging distributors and managing broker activities
  • Achieve Net Sales and Margin Budget targets for fiscal year
  • Develop written sales plans and strategies to capitalize on opportunities which meet / exceed the division’s sales goals
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide business plans to address risks and opportunities
  • Collaborate internally on projects
  • Be an effective “hands on” trainer of broker, distributor, and operator personnel - Minimum of 1 broker training per year per office
  • Contribute to written directives regarding lead follow-up, priorities, reminder notes, etc.
  • Possess adequate working knowledge of product types and pack sizes of in-house as well as competitive product knowing strengths and weaknesses of both
  • Conduct in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships


  • Bachelor degree, Sales/Marketing concentration, or equivalent experience
  • 5 year minimum Food Service Sales & Marketing and experience, distributor, food broker, culinary, or other foodservice manufacturer product preferred
  • Proven successful sales performance
  • 50% travel
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with Sales & Purchasing Executives
  • Fluent in Excel – pivot tables for sales reporting
  • Fluent in Powerpoint

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000.00 /year
