The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Development Coordinator to join our team at our home office in San Diego. In this role you’ll be responsible for assisting the development and construction group members and leadership with coordinating all aspects of the assigned real estate development project(s) to include managing, coordinating, and administering the project development process from initial concepts and planning stages, through acquisition, financing, entitlement approval and construction permitting; and performing other duties as assigned. Below are some additional key areas of responsibility.

Prepares and monitors contracts with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
Assists Accounting with reviewing billing from vendors against contracts and tracking progress of contracts.
Assists in creation of reports and documents to public and private funders and for internal company use, as well as coordinates the timely submission.
Administers and coordinates on-going compliance requirements of various funding sources and development agreements.
Assists Construction Department through various stages of the project, i.e. 20 Day Preliminary Notices, Lien Releases, Insurance information, etc.
Maintains information and documents for various projects at various stages.
Compiles and organizes due diligence documentation and other transactional documentation for the sale and/or purchase of a property.
Supports team in scheduling calendars, maintaining files, and generating correspondences, proposals, etc.
Assists with assembling, issuing, and managing all Requests for Proposals as well as compiling bid comparison summary.
Acts as administrator for the development software system e-Builder and assists with training, troubleshooting, and team compliance.
Assists occasionally with general office staff with other related clerical/administrative tasks/projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What It Takes

Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in real estate development and or project management.
E-builder experience a plus!
Experience coordinating/managing projects, meeting deadlines and budgets, and coordinating the efforts of team members.
Proactive and willing to take initiative with the ability to make decisions independently combined with an ability to work collaboratively
Must have great attention to detail, ability to spot errors and inconsistencies, and work well under pressure.
Must be comfortable with presenting to senior management and working in cross-functional teams; has proven ability to influence across the organization at multiple levels.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with a positive approach.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, etc.
Possesses a ‘no task is too small approach’ and is a fast-learner.
