Sr. SQL Developer
Ft. Belvoir, VA
ECS is seeking a Senior SQL Developer to provide operational oversight of a sophisticated endpoint security solution performed at multiple domestic locations and international work sites (up to 10% travel - CONUS and OCONUS).
Minimum Top Secret clearance is required with SCI eligibility and IAT Level II certification prior to start date. Secret Clearance with favorable SSBI determination (IT Level I) considered.
The Program
Our mission is to defend U.S. Army assets and information and to meet the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) requirements for hardening the endpoint, enabling near-real time visibility, autonomous threat sharing, and protective actions. The capabilities included in our solution are the most advanced endpoint security technologies, analytics, expertise, and process integrations Intel Security offers.

As a Senior SQL Server Engineer on this program, you will use your expertise and experience in the following areas and activities to deliver solutions and services to our customer:

Architect, implement, and administer globally-distributed SQL Server instances, using clustering and DR/COOP for high availability
Analyze large, complex systems to determine performance bottlenecks, application bugs, and opportunities to improve efficiency
Optimize SQL Server to accommodate large data volumes and high throughput processing
Capture and analyze database activity to identify improvements in indexing, file structure, and maintenance processes
Plan and conduct database architecture assessments that examine DBMS and database configuration and performance
Identify areas of instability and deviations from best practices with database components
Participate in performance, load, and stress testing, and remediation of issues identified
Participate in security architecture reviews of large enterprise systems
Participate in all aspects of the application lifecycle: requirements analysis & definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment
Participate in activities that ensure the successful use of these systems including: developing documentation, test scripts, and training materials

Experience proactively identifying & resolving issues within and beyond the program team to keep the program on track

Required Skills:
Active Secret Clearance (Preferred Full Top Secret security clearance, SCI eligible (Active SSBI), US Citizen
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Certifications: IA Certification IAT III IAW DOD 8470.01 (CISSP, or equivalent)
Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining SQL Server infrastructures on version 2008/2008R2/2012/2014
Proficiency with managing and administering SQL Server installations and databases including: developing maintenance plans, configuring server resources, monitoring performance, configuring instances and databases, and administering security
Expert level skills designing and implementing redundant and scalable SQL Server infrastructures using technologies including database mirroring, log shipping, replication, Always On Availability Groups, etc.
Proficiency with SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Profiler, and SQL Server Management Studio
Proficiency in database tuning and query optimization
Experience designing, implementing, supporting, and analyzing enterprise scale applications that perform extract/transform/load (ETL) operations with external data sources and SQL Server
Seven (7) years of experience in the above listed areas

Desired Skills:
Expert Knowledge of Host Based Security system, including ePO, VSE, PA, HIPS, DCM, APS, RSD.
The ability to think conceptually, analytically, and in broad and complex ways
Prior experience with any McAfee technologies such as

Web Gateway (MWG)
