Summary of essential job functions:
The HVAC Technician will carry out International Maintenance Assistance Program (IMAP) services at worldwide facilities. Assignments include Post site visits to conduct emergency services; perform maintenance and repair services; test essential equipment and building systems; and conduct hands-on instruction in inspection, PM and repair procedures. Complete various types of documentation and administrative duties; and identify follow-up work for Post, local contractor, or IMAP contractor completion.
Roles and responsibilities:
You will respond to emergencies repairs of HVAC systems.
You will perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, and other tasks as identified.
You will identify needed equipment, materials, and enquire if it is in Post's inventory or available locally.
You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC system components in accordance with the appropriate OBO checklists.
You will document and report any deficiencies detected.
You will be expected to service very old to state-of-the-art HVAC systems on DoS facilities which are provided by numerous manufacturers, including Trane, York, MultiStack, Edwards, McLean and numerous others.
You will respond to unanticipated emergencies, minimizing any disruption to ongoing Post activities.
You will support maintenance, repairs, and testing of existing systems, at a minimum, to the requirements of current versions of; ASHRAE: American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air- Conditioning Engineers, Manufacturers Recommendations, OSHA and other safety regulations.
You will provide limited repair services concurrently with PM activities in office buildings on air conditioning systems and components, central ventilation and central heating systems to insure optimum performance
You will document operational logs.
You will test repaired equipment to insure operation within Manufacturers' design parameters.
You will review and compare the documentation pertaining to existing conditions; make necessary updates to reflect actual conditions at each facility.

Minimum qualifications and education requirements:
High School Diploma.
Active Top Secret Clearance or be able to have your clearance upgraded to a Top Secret.
Valid Journeyman license or equivalent at a State level or be a graduate of a State approved/accredited or military Journeyman program.
Graduate of a State approved/accredited or military program that provided formal HVAC Journeyman level instruction and training; AND have an additional (5) years of hands- on experience (to have been completed within the last 8 years), in rehabilitation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of new and older HVAC building systems and equipment,
Candidates must ALSO hold a current EPA-approved CFC Universal certification for high and low-pressure refrigerants, and shall be familiar with/be able to comply with regulations governing the use of CFC refrigerants.
Requires a valid US passport, as this position involves overseas assignments.
Prior military or OCONUS experience is desired.
