I am in need of a right hand man. I need to hire a well-qualified, talented mechanic, someone that can effectively run the shop in my absence. I had a guy like this for the past 6 years, but he was diagnosed with what is likely a terminal illness and he is unable to work.
I need a guy (or gal) that can flatrate, look at the cars on the schedule and organize their day to maximize throughput and efficiency. 3 bay shop, currently has one tech plus me (the owner), in addition to a service advisor at the front counter. Successful candidate will be very strong in mechanical diagnosis and repair, including electrical and electronics. We don't send people to the dealer, we fix cars and trucks in-house. We weld, we fabricate, we make custom exhaust. We do tires and alignments, we do engine and transmission replacements, we do frame swaps and frame repairs. We do lift kits, regearing, and other aftermarket mods. We are fairly well-known in the 4WD community around here. We do virtually anything our customers ask us to do, short of heavy body repair. Successful candidate also actually cares about the customer experience, is focused on making money for the shop, and takes pride in their craftsmanship. You must enjoy working in a fast paced environment and working on several things at once. A strong ability to multitask will increase your paycheck, as well as mine. You have to be able to think outside the box, problem solve, create solutions.
Shop is well-established, very successful, and there is so much work to do, there is no room to park in the parking lot.
Earnings potential is unlimited. This is a flat rate job, I run the shop and have been doing repair work at the same time, and I have no trouble flagging 60 hours a week. A dedicated repair tech should be able to flag 70-80 or more, the work is definitely there. Our reputation is excellent, we don't do half-ass work. We give honest estimates and diagnoses, we meet our promise times, and we provide the highest possible level of customer service.
If this sounds like a job you're qualified for, please apply and attach a resume. Know up front that I perform background checks for serious candidates. I also have a zero tolerance for drug abusers and alcoholics. I don't care if you go home and drink beer at night, but I do care that you show up on time and ready to work.
I invest in good equipment to the extent possible. Shop is well-lit, clean as it can be, air-conditioned (yes, we work indoors in the summer with the doors closed and stay very comfortable). We are small town and family oriented. I am looking for a team member to be a part of our business family. If you are tired of looking for a job, and are ready to make a home for yourself in a great small town repair shop, this is the one you've been waiting for. I need a "big picture" player, someone with the ability to look around and know what needs to be done, and doesn't need their hand held.
