Roles & Responsibilities:
The Department of Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai seeks a highly qualified research assistant. Our work is focused understanding disparities in cancer incidence and mortality. Our group, within the Center for Behavioral Oncology, has several projects that examine cancer disparities from several vantage points. All of our work seeks to increase both awareness and screening behaviors among patients as well as community members (see our website noted below for details).

Job Duties: We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated research assistant. The research assistant will be an integral member of the research team and will be involved in multiple projects that aim to develop and test interventions designed to improve racial/ethnic minorities’ participation in cancer screening uptake. The research assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of research studies (e.g., preparing study protocols, submitting IRB materials, entering data, recruiting/consenting participants). The research assistant will also assist with manuscript and grant preparations. S/he will also be required to work closely with community partners, interdisciplinary team members, and fellow research staff.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Health Education, Ethnic Studies, Psychology, related health and social service disciplines and/or equivalent work experience
Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Ability to prioritize and multi task
Highly energetic and flexible
Ability to work well with a team
