Job Title: Assistant Controller

SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE
Seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the preparation of financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines. Working under the guidance of a controller, you will play a crucial role in identifying and rectifying discrepancies while assisting in the establishment of effective control systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
- Participation with all aspects of accounting operations including daily cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations.
- Supervision of accounting staff and regularly delegates accounting tasks
- Responsible for regulatory reporting including sales tax, business tax, and payroll tax.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations in multiple states.
- Analyze and prepare reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Assist Controller with independent auditors in obtaining information related to audit of financial statements.
- Assist in documenting and monitoring internal controls.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Assist Controller with preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Critical thinker with a high proficiency in math.
- Experience with managing a team preferred.
- Sage 100 experience and job cost experience preferred.
- Software implementation experience preferred.
- Skilled in time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required (masters preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting work experience required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
