QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES:
- Installing, configuring and troubleshooting local area networks, wireless networks, VoIP systems, IP Public Address/Intercom and IP Video Camera systems in large campus/school or government environments.
- Configuring wireless LAN controllers.
- Creating VoIP dial plans and installing VoIP phones.
- Analyzing and solving networking problems.
- Reviewing and evaluating IT system designsfor compliance with industry standards.
- Conducting site surveys and on-site assessments and preparation of design/scope-of-work (SOW) for installations.
- Preparing clear and concise reports and technical documentation.
- Formulating and expressing ideas clearly and effectively in writing and orally.
- Setting priorities and successfully completing tasks in a timely manner.
- Related tasks:
- Conduct site surveys
- Develop scopes of work
- Create bill of material
- Accept equipment deliveries at warehouse
- Create asset workbooks to document equipment
- Generate e-mails of status completions
- Rearranging Network equipment
- Install power equipment (UPS/Stepdown Transformers)
- Install network routers
- Install and configure network switches
- Install network modules
- Install network cards
- Install Cat6e/Fiber patch Cords
- Troubleshoot LAN equipment
- Maintain effective relationships with District personnel and other organizations.
- A California Driver’s license, use of a car and be able to carry tools and materials
- weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Cisco CCNP and Genetec Security Center Omnicast and Synergis certification preferable but at least CCNA is required
- Must have at least three years of experience
- Must have within 30 miles of downtown Los Angeles
