What does our Firmware Developer do, you ask?
As an Embedded Firmware Developer for Siemens Building Products, you collaborate in teams to improve and develop products for the commercial HVAC market, with a focus on testing. The end game is to satisfy customer’s needs in developing a platform to migrate our proprietary APOGEE System to upgraded Global hardware platforms. At the fundamental core, this position designs, creates, tests, solves and enhances software applications for Building Automation components and sub-systems.
How you will get the job done:
Collaborate with Engineering to better understand the market demands to implement product designs, as well as with international colleagues in an agile environment
Review and understand software methodologies for product design and model documentation
Develop and run automated tests for verifying sub-system application functionality
Build and review documentation for internal process and external customer support
Participate in design alternatives via prototyping, peer programming and expert reviews
Participate in resolution of field problems in application of existing products
Qualifications you must have:
Bachelor of Computer Science or related field
5+ years’ experience in assisting senior-level executives and their teams, with the proven ability to handle details and priorities in a fast-paced, innovative technology company
Proficiency in C or C++
Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States
Experience that gives you an edge:
Python, CI/CD experience with GitLabCI, Jenkins/Puppet/Kubernetes, QA/Automation, DevOps
Working in an Agile environment (via co-op, internship, or classroom experience)
