Position Purpose

The Sales and Operations Planning Manager will lead the design and development of Sales and Operations Planning Tools and Processes for Automotive and Pallecon Business. The Manager will be have full responsibility for design, development and on-going enhancements of the National Inventory Mode(NIM) for Americas Automotive and Pallecon Supply Chain. The Manager will be responsible for the governance and communication of the outputs from the NIM. He or she will play a key role in providing comprehensive supply chain visibility, and timely recommendations to improve service, and optimize supply chain cost. The Manager will support Demand, Supply Planning and other activities within NA Strategic Planning Function as required.

Scope

Execute all facets of the S&OP process to provide an optimum customer service level, driving revenue and margin, while managing to key financial and capital investment guidelines
Partner closely with cross-functional team members to ensure the demand consensus process delivers an agreed upon, workable volume forecast (short and mid-term); ensure gaps and overlaps are addressed, scenarios are completed and issues appropriately escalated to meet business objectives
Development of the baseline for annual budget planning purposes
Lead the S&OP management reviews, prepare all data and metrics for review, identify gaps and scenarios that must be presented, guide final decision making on open items and trade-offs, and prepare escalations for executive review where appropriate.
Recommend and maintain optimal inventory levels at various stages in the supply chain in order to achieve customer satisfaction levels as well as mitigate inventory exposure.

Major/Key Accountabilities

Responsible for design, development, and on-going enhancements of Pallecon and Automotive National Inventory Model
Manage the monthly medium/long term planning process and the weekly supply-demand planning process in order to prepare in-time for capacity creation/reduction and the procurement of long-lead-time products
Lead Governance and Communication Processes to support Monthly S&OP Executive Review
Partner with Cross-Functional Teams in developing monthly S&OP Model and Report Out
Continuously seek opportunity to improve the process and S&OP Model – to optimize inventory position, service, operational and capital cost
Analyzes the state of the business and presents risks/opportunities to both the executive team and CHEP’s operational units
Assist in developing monthly Sales and Operational Planning executive review presentation

Deliver on Budgeted Capital and Opex Spend
Recommend and maintain optimal inventory levels at various stages in the supply chain in order to achieve customer satisfaction levels as well as mitigate inventory exposure.
On-Time Delivery and High Data Integrity of North American S&OP Model that serves as a baseline for Monthly Business Review (MBR) and Budgeting Process

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Supply Chain/ Planning/ Forecasting/ Operations Management/ Computer Science/ Industrial Engineering/ Statistics

Experience

Prior Planning, Supply Chain or General Business experience preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain related functions with a focus on Forecasting, Advanced Analytics, Reporting and Decision Support
Strong leadership background with strong inter personal, negotiation and influencing skills
Analytical capabilities needed to synthesize large amounts of data into a clear story and/or assess business process improvement opportunities - especially to an executive audience
Ability to operate in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
Ability to maintain poise and a positive attitude in a challenging environment
Business acumen with ability to achieve results in an ambiguous, matrixed environment is a must have
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional matrix teams and ability to drive solutions at all levels of an organization
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to communicate at all organizational levels

Skills and Knowledge

Required - Expertise on Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel and Access
Preferred - Knowledge of statistical data analysis and forecasting techniques
Advanced knowledge of supply chain integration, logistics network designs, transportation management, warehouse management best practices.
Knowledge of geography for use in logistics and transportation decision-making.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement innovative processes, systems and especially to an executive audience
Skilled in developing analytical frameworks, visual intelligence tools and executive dashboards
