Nephrology Research Associate

The Division of Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research. The sucessful candidate must have completed clinical training and must be ABIM eligible in Nephrology. Additionally, he/she must have a Master's degree in clinical epidemiology.

We seek candidates who are committed to pursuing an academic career in nephrology focused on innovations in access to kidney transplantation. Ideally, the candidate will have demonstrated familiarity with transplant registry data and have advanced skills in multivariable matching and regression modeling. Candidates proficient with STATA and R are preferred to facilitate collaboration with other scientists in the division.

The applicant will work toward research independence by conducting research leading to peer-reviewed publications, and will be required to obtain independent extramural funding.
