Position Summary:
The Director of Resort Wellness and Activities is a key leadership role responsible for developing and managing all seasonal resort activities, which includes focus on pool and beach operations. This role also involves overseeing Spa Edgewood to create a holistic wellness environment that enhances the overall guest experience. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and creative individual with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, promoting wellness, and ensuring the spa's integral role in achieving these objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Seasonal Resort Activities Management:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive seasonal activities program that caters to a diverse range of guest preferences.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure the seamless execution of scheduled activities, including coordinating with the culinary team for special dining experiences.
- Monitor guest engagement and feedback to continuously enhance and evolve the activities program.
- Manage the budget for resort activities, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Partner with the marketing department to create and promote activity offerings.
- Pool and Beach Operations:
- Oversee the daily operations of the resort's pool and beach areas.
- Ensure the safety of guests by implementing and enforcing all relevant pool and beach regulations.
- Supervise pool attendants and beach staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and aesthetics of pool and beach areas to meet the highest standards.
- Develop and implement a wellness-oriented spa program that aligns with the resort's brand and philosophy.
- Lead a team of spa professionals, including therapists, estheticians, and support staff.
- Collaborate with spa therapists to create customized wellness experiences for guests.
- Monitor spa performance, including revenue, guest satisfaction, and treatment quality.
- Ensure the spa's facilities and services contribute to the overall wellness experience of the resort.
- Liaison with Salon owner in order for the Spa to offer seamless service between the two teams.
- Wellness Environment Enhancement:
- Promote a wellness-focused culture throughout the resort by integrating wellness elements into various guest touchpoints.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to offer healthy dining options that align with wellness objectives.
- Partner with the marketing department to create and promote wellness packages and offerings.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Train and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Set clear goals and expectations for staff and monitor their progress.
- Develop and manage budgets for the resort activities and Spa Edgewood departments.
- Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial targets are met.
Qualifications / Special Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience in resort management required including spa operations, with a strong background in activities programming and wellness.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage budgets effectively.
- Excellent computer skills including a Spa scheduling software system.
- Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and swing shift.
