Job Summary: This position will be responsible for developing and monitoring quality performance standards for internal and external quality. Providing operation support to reduce scrap, improve quality and improve efficiency. Being an active participant or directing New Product Development activities with new products to ensure high quality standards and process efficiencies are achieved. Create and maintain work instructions, BOMs, and current print revisions. The position will require some “ownership” of certain processes or duties within the Quality/Engineering department.

Reports to: Quality Manager

Requirements of an Engineering Technician:

  • Associates degree in engineering related field or pursuing B.S in engineering.

Duties for anEngineering Technicianinclude, but are not limited to:

  • Support development and maintenance of capable quality system
  • Perform all new part qualification activities (PPAP)
  • Track and report cost of quality
  • Provide production support with troubleshooting to reduce scrap and improve efficiency
  • Prepare work instructions
  • Able to review/perform2-D/ 3-D design
  • Perform material testing
  • Ground up fixture design as well as improvement of existing tooling
  • Support mold shop in mold modifications, improvements and troubleshooting
  • Create and update BOMs for current and new products
  • Support document rev control of all prints, work instructions, and other controlled documents
  • Support new product development during design review, prototype, and initial production start-up phases
  • Warranty and SDR analysis on returned product
  • Take the lead on certain processes or areas of responsibly as needed
