Here’s what you need to know.

Sonoco is seeking a Corporate Development (M&A) Analyst. You will report directly to our Senior Vice President of Corporate Planning with line of sight to many senior leaders in the organization. You will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of acquisition and divestiture activities (market research, financial modeling, due diligence process, integration support, etc.). Also, you will support the Corporate FP&A process in completing strategic reviews of markets, supporting the annual operating plan and strategic planning process and leading the annual post completion capital reviews. Additionally, you’ll get to work on and execute/lead many special projects throughout the year.

This position is a highly visible role, working with all levels of the corporate organization, including executives, business unit General Managers and their leadership teams. To be successful in this role, you must be a self-starter with high integrity, initiative and drive. Have impeccable attention to detail with critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong project management skills, preferably having lead teams in the past.

What your experience needs to look like.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business (preferably in Accounting or Finance), but we strongly prefer a Master’s degree . Additionally, 2+ years of hands-on corporate development, investment banking or private equity experience is strongly preferred. Having worked in an M&A environment is also very appealing. You must also enjoy a fast pace environment, and have experience with process implementation and quick execution, because no day is the same around here!
