McAfee seeks a talented, dynamic attorney to join our first-class legal team. The full-time Senior Director position combines transactional expertise with legal leadership responsibilities. The Senior Director is responsible for overseeing company-wide revenue transactions while also managing the Business and Transaction Legal (BATL) teams in JAPAC, EMEA, LTAM and North America. The position location is flexible—potential locations include Plano (TX), Santa Clara (CA), Singapore, and Slough.
Serve as the McAfee’s Global Head of BATL, managing a team of 20+ with direct reporting responsibility to the company’s Chief Legal Officer
Oversee the legal dimensions of revenue transactions worldwide as implemented by BATL JAPAC, EMEA, LTAM and North America.
Manage the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of a wide range of contracts for revenue transactions, chiefly software license, cloud agreements, professional services agreements, and amendments by the Global BATL Team
Manage the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of supplier and vendor agreements, including strategic alliances and procurement agreements by the Global BATL Team
Personally draft, review and negotiate the above referenced agreements, as necessary
Assist with the development of new contract templates
Participate in compliance initiatives including training internal clients on legal and contracting policies or issues, including ethics and anti-corruption issues
Serve as a legal escalation point within BATL for contract negotiations
Provide an overall strategic operational framework for the day to day functions of the BATL teams, including engagement models and ways of working with the business and internal legal
Optimize customer contracts and contracts processes to maximize efficiency and manage risk
Work with customers' legal departments to resolve any disputes co-operatively
Escalate issues that may have negative financial or business impact to McAfee executive management
Provide legal and commercial guidance to Sales, Finance, Procurement and Operations on a variety of issues.
Manage relationships with outside counsel and legal service providers, enforcing budget discipline and innovate to achieve cost and operational efficiency
Collaborate with McAfee’s Legal Operations team for legal projects and lead the implementation of any such projects which support BATL operations (e.g. contract lifecycle management project).
LPC or European/US equivalent qualified
Qualified as a Solicitor/Barrister or Attorney
Transactional experience as a practicing lawyer in an in-house capacity in a technology environment
Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles under US GAAP
Outstanding people management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the company and around the world
Able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, growth environment
Legal generalist with experience in other areas of the law (employment, litigation, corporate governance etc.) is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex legal concepts to provide guidance to the business
Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet concurrent deadlines, organize time and priorities and work well as a member of a team
Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
International experience an advantage
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues quickly, pragmatically, and efficiently
Ability to independently manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues
Consistently good judgment and the ability to apply legal knowledge to create practical business solutions
Experience working in cross-functional teams and with technical clients
Strong strategic thinking and project management skills
