THE ROLE

The Delivery Manager is responsible for providing an exceptional delivery experience to our customers by developing employees and managing day-to-day vehicle delivery operations. Our managers must deliver excellent results and achieve goals quarter after quarter by building effective teams, creating operational standards, and driving strategic business planning. The ideal candidate communicates effectively, manages time efficiently, and is passionate about leading change and inspiring teams. This role directly supports Tesla’s mission by ensuring an exceptional and memorable delivery experience for our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

BUILD EFFECTIVE TEAMS

Actively train, coach, and develop the Delivery team
Source, recruit, hire, and onboard top talent in order to achieve delivery goals
Set clear team targets and individual goals; hold teams accountable by driving performance management
Represent Tesla in a professional and responsible manner when communicating with others both inside and outside the company
CREATE OPERATIONAL STANDARDS

Develop and refine an exceptional experience for customers taking delivery
Help drive Tesla education through learning experiences on and after delivery day
Manage local delivery pipeline, scheduling volumes, and actively set individual and team targets
Proactively mediate and resolve any customer concerns or escalations
Assist in the planning, implementation, and follow up of vehicle preparation operational tasks and projects including, but not limited to: the vehicle receipt process, lot management, detailing, and charging
Maintain safe and efficient organization and transport of vehicles between onsite and offsite parking lots
Demonstrate fluency in the local market’s DMV requirements and processes
Help control expenses, including staffing, supplies, and services
DRIVE STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLANNING

Work collaboratively with the Sales team to ensure that customer expectations are properly set, that communication is kept open, and that escalations are resolved in a professional and proactive manner
Work collaboratively with Service team on repairs and vehicle rectifications
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required, and at least 5 years work experience in retail or operations in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated self-starter who possesses exceptional time management skills and has great attention to detail
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and adhere to business-critical deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate relevant information to all levels of the organization
Passionate dedication and ethical approach to management and operations
Ability to develop collaborative relationships; evidence of being a well-respected, trusted partner, and someone others want to work with
Experience running complex processes using Lean or other techniques
Proven ability to problem solve and achieve results
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record
