Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Engineer, we'll count on you to:
The primary duties of the Transportation Engineer - are to work with project managers and engineers to develop civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Bus Rapid Transit, Light Rail, Commuter Rail, Heavy Rail or Highway design projects across North America. Civil and track engineering assignments include ADA design, station layouts, alignments and profiles, quantity tabulations, and 2D/3D CADD support. In this role you will support the development of design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls. This individual to be a self-starter that can work independently on small tasks or collaborate as part of the team on larger projects. This candidate may also perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • PE required and if registered as a PE in another state, the candidate must gain Texas reciprocity within 6 months
  • 5+ year’s transit, rail, civil, or highway engineering experience
  • Strong interest in track and highway design
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with MicroStation, InRoads or Auto Cadd Civil 3-D design
  • Construction related experience
  • Preference given to local candidates
