Marketing and Transportation Engineering (M&TE) is an engineering service and project management organization comprised of engineering and other resources that coordinate project work associated with pipelines, terminals, and marine.
This position provides technical writing support to organizations within Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC). The position will be located in the Findlay, OH office and can expect less than 10% travel.
Provides technical writing expertise to Business Partners. Possesses a working knowledge of the technical communication industry and best practices.
Translates technical document content from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to end-user readability and usability.
Analyzes, creates, revises, redesigns, and organizes document and form architecture content.
Applies effective writing principles and knowledge of document types.
Supports assigned Business Partners with all document needs, including change requests, new document requests, and periodic reviews.
Completes writing assignments on-time and in accordance with set standards regarding formatting, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Regularly communicates document status updates to Business Partners.
Manages assignments within document management system.
Maintains current metadata on all documents.
Leads the Governing Documents processes including scheduling, organizing, and facilitating meetings to reach end-user needs.
Assists Business Partners in meeting government and industry deadlines and requirements to achieve compliance.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage multiple work assignments in a team environment.
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree Required
Major: Preferred in Technical Communication, Professional Writing, English, Journalism
Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Office experience is required. Experience is preferred in Microsoft Visio and Adobe LiveCycle.
