Digital Data Platform Manager


This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization within UPS, leveraging new technologies to help make UPS's marketing efforts more data and analytics driven. The Data Management Platform team partners with stakeholders across marketing and IT including, campaign owners, channel owners, media agencies, data scientists, and IT to develop data strategies, roadmaps and execution plans to support our digital Marketing Efforts.

The Digital Data Platform Analyst is responsible for the operation of the company’s customer data platform in support of Marketing’s business objectives. He/She ensures the data collected into the Customer Data Platform supports the analysis, segmentation and performance measurement needs of marketers, Marketing Data Sciences teams and agencies across all digital channels. The Customer Data Platform Manager leads generation and execution of the data roadmap for UPS’ cloud based customer data platform.

Responsibilities and Duties

Designs and builds the data strategies and roadmaps necessary to serve the digital marketing needs at UPS
Develops a data governance model, data policies and standards, and maintains best practices for acquisition, storage and analysis of digital marketing data
Manages a small team of data engineers and other technical resources who interact with stakeholders across marketing, IT, Security, Legal, agencies and other groups
Oversees data collection workflows for all paid and owned media channels into the Customer Data Platform
Designs and develops digital marketing data repositories and Extracts, Transforms, and Loads (ETL) processes in support of the segmentation, analytics and reporting needs of the business
Develops and manages the data model in the Customer Data Platform to meet the analysis needs of the business
Develops and maintains digital marketing performance reporting tools and develops new dashboards as required by stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills

Deep experience in data strategies, relationships, stitching and curation of large data sets in a cloud environment
Experience managing small cross functional teams in a collaborative environment
Deep experience building data pipelines in the Hadoop and Spark ecosystem, including experience with Hive, HBase, Cassandra, Sqoop and Oozie
Strong knowledge of data modeling principles and best practices in building analytics repositories in SQL and NoSQL environments
Strong coding skills in SQL, Hive QL, Spark and Python
Understanding of Master Data Management practices and experience building 360 customer views
Experience manipulating and analyzing impression/view-level digital marketing performance data, including data from web analytics platforms, ad serving platforms and email marketing/marketing automation platforms
