16 suitcases is a hip, trendy boutique specializing in women’s fashion, accessories and gifts. It is a fun, fast pace environment in which your leadership skills and creativity will flourish. We are seeking a super energetic, customer centric Store Manager that has strong fashion styling and personal shopping experience. Our perfect candidate is a goal breaker and is a leader in sales and customer service. Seeking a candidate that lives and breathes fashion and stays on top of emerging trends in fashion and would love an opportunity to assist in buying. Must be an initiative taker and have strong decision making skills. Must be able to juggle and prioritize multiple competing tasks. A minimum of 7+ years in the fashion/retail industry will only be considered. At least 3+ years of Management experience preferred. Boutique store experience preferred but not necessary.

Job Duties

Sales & Revenue

  • Achieves financial objectives by meeting/exceeding revenue goals
  • Analyzes and applies trend and sales report information
  • Implement pricing and promtions strategy by reviewing relevant sales information and activities
  • Maintains and implements proper inventory control methods to ensure availability of merchandise and loss prevention
  • Manages and communicates brand/item/size sell-through rates to ensure accurate inventory acquisition
  • Maximize profitability by maintaining margin goals across retail division

Customer Experience & Personal Shopping

  • Create a welcoming environment to deepen the overall customer experience.
  • Deepen the overall customer experience that is in alignment with company values
  • Build detailed profiles of key customers for maximum relationship building
  • Send out relevant customer communications on a timely basis
  • Provide customized personal shopping and conceirge service for customers

Buying & Planning

  • Assist with the development of buying plans and promotional plans
  • Assist with buying for the store and identifying selling through styles, brands and trends
  • Accompany Executive Buyer on trade shows when schedule allows
  • Complete all customer special orders and requests
  • Confirm all deliveries and follow up on all damages and returns in the within the designated time periods


  • Create and manage the events calendar (promos,events, social media)
  • Manage social media posts and fashion ambassadors photo shoots
  • Ensures appropriate merchandising and signage for all areas (ongoing)
  • Create and manage special in-store and out of store events
  • Coordinate trunk shows, giveaway items and marketing support from brand companies


  • Create visually stunning displays that will continuously be a warm and inviting environment for customers and staff
  • Ensure store is organized and maintained at all times
  • Ensure that windows are continuously change and reflects in-store theme
  • Create merchandising calendar and ensure budget goals
  • Ensure styling services and subscriptions services goals are met

Staffing & Training

  • Demonstrate sales and customer service leadership by example.
  • Take lead in on-boarding and training of junior staff members
  • Keep junior staff accountable by daily planning, monitoring and appraising job results
  • Encourages technical knowledge through online webinars, workshops and professional publications

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 to $48,000.00 /year
