Bartender Job Description
Duties:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations on drink selections
- Mix ingredients to create classic and innovative cocktails
- Ensure that the bar area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
- Maintain knowledge of current drink trends and new beverage offerings
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Process customer payments and handle cash transactions accurately
- Adhere to all food handling and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the bar area
- Assist with banquet events as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in the food industry or as a bartender preferred
- Strong knowledge of different types of alcoholic beverages, brewing techniques, and cocktail recipes
- Ability to handle cash transactions and perform basic math calculations accurately
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of cashiering procedures is a plus
- Must be at least 21 years old (or legal drinking age in your location)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects (such as kegs or cases of beverages)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
