Position Title: Software Engineer II
FLSA Classification: Salary, Exempt
Supervisor’s Title: Team Lead, Software Engineer
Schedule: Full-Time, Regular, Monday-Friday
Performance Review: Annual
If you are an analytical problem solver with a passion for Node.JS development and innovation, this may be the perfect job for you! The Software Engineer II will work within an Agile team that develops and maintains modern, enterprise-level microservices. The candidate will be responsible for estimating assigned work, designing scalable solutions to complex problems, and developing and supporting an expanding cloud-based microservice platform.
Work within a team to design, develop, and implement scalable, RESTful, multi-tenant microservices.
Develop with security, user experience, performance, accessibility, and business objectives in mind.
Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure product quality.
Collaborate with developers across teams to integrate the client-facing application with the backend services.
Participate in agile software development, prototyping, and code reviews with a small team of developers.
Collaborate with team on key improvements to and design of applications, processes, and infrastructure.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Sharpen information assets
Education and Experience:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
At least one year of hands-on experience with the Node.JS framework and database design (preferably PostgreSQL or MySQL)
Knowledge of Express.JS a plus.
Experience designing, implementing, and using RESTful web services is a plus.
Knowledge of microservice architecture a plus
Experience with version control principles, preferably using Git.
