The User Experience Team at TaylorMade owns the usability strategy and user-centered design execution of our digital properties. With a keen focus on our users, our mission is to design beautiful experiences that are easy to use.
User Experience is an integral part of the Digital Marketing/E-Commerce team. This UX/UI Designer will be responsible for working alongside other UX/UI Designers - while within our digital style guide and brand guide boundaries - to assist project & product managers, developers, and other internal stakeholders to continually iterate and create every aspect of our digital properties. We do this by owning the experience research, design audit, usability testing, solution presentation, and follow-through data-driven-design efforts. In addition to all of the UX responsibilities, this designer will also work closely with marketing managers and the global IT team to design new interactive content.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Audit existing experiences and uncover opportunities for improvement.
Use data to drive your design decisions and present both data and design to internal stakeholders for approval.
Establish, evolve and maintain creative standards, style guide and web templates.
Create simple but elegant visual designs and interaction models that allow users to understand and digest large amounts of complex information.
Work closely with development team members to ensure proper execution of design requirements.
Assist the User Experience team in evangelizing design thinking across the organization to ensure business leaders and executives continue to understand the value of user experience for the brand.
Create wireframes, creative designs, and interactive prototypes for online marketing landing pages for new products.
Have a strong understanding of Category Navigation and overall site taxonomy in the e-commerce space.
Work with internal teams, freelance teams, and agencies on projects as directed.
Have design-forward thinking that ensures you stay ahead of industry design standards and trends.
Create web graphics, animations, user interfaces, icons, templates and layouts for use in projects, product development/implementation and maintenance-support.
Translate sitemaps, wireframes and other architectural documents, as needed, based on firm understanding of UI and navigation planning.
Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant across web and mobile products.
Assist in the concept and execution of usability studies and A/B testing to validate the most effective user experience for our customers.
Work with development teams to successfully communicate design for technical and functional implementation.
Own the initial steps to proactively solve user experience issues with design.
Performs other responsibilities as required
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with diverse teams.
Portfolio of work showcasing samples of user experience design for web and mobile properties.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A team player who can work independently but communicates often.
Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems.
Must be organized, have an eye for detail and be able to put ideas into a tangible form.
Must have clean, modern design sensibility, with a user-centered focus.
Must be detail oriented and able to follow established design guidelines.
Professional experience with data analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
Professional experience conducting in-person user testing sessions.
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
3 + years experience in UX, usability and information architecture.
Strong experience in web + mobile e-commerce design; and knowledge in iterative user-centered design, methodologies, current trends and best practices
Experience working with InVision, DSM, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools.
A bachelor (or higher) degree or equivalent training in the area of Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Design, Cognitive Science, or equivalent disciplines.
