Operations Manager is responsible for leading the success of plant operations and distribution to ensure the overall performance of the manufacturing plant. Ensuring the overall safety, quality, production planning, and operational costs are in line with customer expectations and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Managing Shipping demands, shipping receiving, inventory control.
· Execution of receiving raw materials and shipment of finished goods.
· Coordinate removal of expired materials, damaged or unused produce.
· Ensuring warehouse and production areas are maintained, organized, and prepared for audits at all times.
· Keep weekly production schedule updated according to Master Productions Schedule, Forecast, customer orders and historical data
· Works directly with production and quality departments to develop, implement, and manage improvement projects focused on quality, scrap, and productivity.
· Monitors and improves safety and efficiency of production processes using key performance indicators, directing operational staff, and plant personnel.
· Provides day-to-day process troubleshooting on safety, quality, and efficiency issues.
· Supports capital improvement projects from concept to commissioning and hand-off to production leadership staff.
· Suggests and implements technical solutions to eliminate production issues.
· Inspects, documents, and trends process conditions to assure consistent outgoing quality.
· Monitors productivity levels and identifies scrap rate improvement opportunities by production line.
· Directly supports operators in problem solving.
· Approves departmental production and warehouse, overtime, and monitors staffing requirements consistent with demand and production needs.
· Assists in the investigation of customer improvement opportunities (CIO’s) to provide timely follow-up and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
· Works collaboratively with scheduling, warehousing, engineering, and quality to support and improve productivity and quality reliability through proactive machine repair and improvement.
· Provides hands-on expertise in beverage manufacturing.
· Supports and oversees product development initiatives and production during trial runs and scales up efforts supporting growth initiatives and/or modification of processes and continuous improvement implementation.
· Ensures the data collection for operation KPI’s are consistently tracked, reported, and verified for accuracy.
· Implements and drives continuous improvement activities through implementation of change.
Qualifications:
- 5 years manufacturing experience, preferably in a managerial role in the food, beverage, fermentation, or pharmaceutical industry. working as a member of management in a beverage processing and/or high-speed manufacturing
- 5 years’ experience in leading and directing large groups of employees
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong oral / written communication skills.
- Ability to work in high stress and demanding work environment.
- Good coaching skills and demonstrated success in developing / mentoring people.
- Must have strong prioritization and analytical skills.
- Strategic planning skills and ability to set strategic objectives for the facility as well as drill down to individual objectives.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000 / 22000 experience a plus).
- Food Safety/HACCP training.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identifies and addresses problems, meets deadlines, and stays with in cost projections
