The Patient Service Representative, Call Center will be part of a dynamic team of customer service professionals working together to provide exceptional service to our patients. You will be responsible for handling incoming patient calls, scheduling appointments, register new patients in our electronic medical record system, verify insurance and connect patients to care teams in a timely and professional manner. This is an excellent opportunity to build on your customer service and communication skills while providing meaningful customer service to our patients.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Determines nature of calls, takes and relays messages, completes daily message logs and responds to routine inquiries following established procedures.

Ensures exceptional customer service is offered to all patients and visitors using the AIDET principles. (Acknowledge. Introduce. Duration. Explanation. Thank.)

Verifies insurance eligibility and informs patients of covered benefits. Requests and reviews managed care referrals and ensures that services provided are within scope of authorization.

Schedules all appointments including patient visits and assists patients with scheduling return visits.

Receives and records patient payments made at time of service. In doing so, calculates adjustments and/or discounts when totaling charge amount, prepares receipts for cash or check payments, and updates patient account information in computer system. Balances actual daily receipts with computer-generated total, researches and modifies discrepancies and/or errors, and prepares daily deposit.

Performs next day preparation, which includes chart preparation, pre-registration, appointment confirmation including payment information.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

One year or more of experience in the medical field, preferably in customer service.

Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail, required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekend, required.

Bilingual English/Spanish, required.
