Lochrane Engineering Inc., an NV5 company, is currently seeking a Transportation Highway Design Engineer in Orlando, Florida office to support our professional service to the FDOT. The position generally aligns to the ASCE guidelines for engineering Grades II through III.
Assists Project Manager in the preparation of minor and major highway and drainage designs.
Perform highway and drainage design calculations and direct the preparation of design drawings as per the FDOT PPM and Specification.
Assists PM in scheduling of specific tasks and assignments per the design initiative.
Assists PM with preparation of weekly and monthly program updates and reporting.
Assists PM with management of design review process and permitting through outside agencies.
Assists PM to coordinate with consultant engineers, utility coordinators, and surveyors.
Assists PM Updates and maintains master schedule for the project assigned.
Conduct effective communications with Team.
Conduct field visits to projects locations and inventory critical design issues.
Assists PM to coordinate with select subconsultants assembled for the project.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working on FDOT projects required in FDOT Workgroups 3.0 and 7.1.
Florida EI Certificate required.
Software capability: MicroStation, Geopak, AdICPR, Civil3D, MS Suite-PS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
