Essential Job Functions

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Nurse Aide Program.
- Effective May 18, 2017 – must have attended at a minimum outside training program consisting of classroom and supervised practicum of a minimum of 75 hours (A minimum of 16 hours of classroom training must precede a minimum of 16 hours of supervised practical training as part of the 75 hours).
- One-year experience as a nurse aide/assistant in a healthcare facility or as a home health aide in a home care/hospice agency.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, and sound judgment.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Nurse Aide Certification.
- Certification as Hospice/Palliative Care Nurse Aide; Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Experience in Healthcare setting.
License, Certification & Clearances
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License (if out of state hire current Department of Motor Vehicle record report required and obtain PA Current Driver License within 30 days of hire).
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Regular, consistent, on-site and timely attendance.
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between Excela Health locations.
