POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrical Design Manager will provide technical and administrative direction to the Electrical Design group. Interface closely with the Electrical & Systems Engineering Managers to ensure total coverage of all aspects of electrical and systems design for projects implemented at Roeslein & Associates, Inc. Develop standard methods and procedures to enhance the consistency and quality of the electrical design aspects for the projects performed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing and managing the standardization of the Electrical Design Group.
Specification, procurement and overall responsibility of all field devices and instrumentation to be incorporated on projects (Roeslein “L” phase code items).
Design, specification and procurement of cable tray, conduit, and all related fittings, brackets, etc. required.
Supporting onsite projects from installation through Functional Check-out (FCO).
Organizing and supervising the shipping and receiving of electrical hardware and components.
Provide input for OEM specifications and requirements. Review OEM drawings and documents for compliance.
Assist the mechanical and /or electrical engineers with “I” phase code design, selection and procurement.
Develop machinery interconnects and coordination with the OEMs.
Provide employee development by mentoring and closely working with designers to establish clear objectives and goals for both technical and personal growth.
Assist in business development by supporting BD efforts such as assisting in customer meetings and supporting the estimating group in developing pricing for equipment and systems as well as providing input into the engineering man hour estimates.
Assist management in the planning of electrical resources to perform the work both backlog and proposed.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office and uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 10 lbs. on a regular basis is required.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Business Management is required.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electrical project engineering is required.
Experience with design of electrical panels is required.
Experience with conveyance line control design – material handling.
Experience with Instrumentation design and engineering.
Experience with estimating engineering hours required for projects and pricing for systems and panels is required.
Familiarity with capabilities and application of AutoCAD Electrical.
Familiarity with Navis Works 3D.
Ability to make authoritative decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on the outcome of project engineering activities.
Can negotiate critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies, requiring skills in persuasion and negotiation.
Individuals at this level demonstrate a mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding extensive engineering programs.
Mentoring/coaching skills are required to assist and develop department subordinates.
Excellent communication skills; both oral and written is required.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent organization and planning skills.
Ability to effectively lean and acquire new knowledge and skills.
Computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs are required.
