Job Description

This is an in-person role, based out of our Foster City, CA office.
Specific Responsibilities and skills
Working with key stakeholders, plays a key role in development and execution of market research plan supporting HIV products and strategy.
Manages HIV market research studies, including project objective, design, vendor selection and oversight, monitoring of data collection, data analysis and interpretation. Develops relevant and compelling presentation of market research insights for key stakeholders, including brand leadership and senior management
Manages and analyzes competitive environment, market penetration, market potential and future trends and makes recommendations based on findings
Keeps abreast of key market events and works to understand potential impact
Working with diverse counterparts (Brand team, Analytics, Forecasting, Commercial Learning and Development, and Managed Markets), compiles and analyzes trends and, as appropriate, recommends corrective courses of action
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to work with external agencies, including vendors to develop programs and materials.
Ability to lead in a matrix team.
Knowledge & Skills:
In-depth experience designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative primary market research. Must have in-depth knowledge and experience in a complex franchise-specific market
Strong strategic thinker who understands the critical role of market research in developing commercial strategy in support of both in-line products and product launch. Ability to operate in ambiguous situations and determine focused objectives and a clear path forward in the face of open questions
Strong data analytical and interpretive skills. The ability to meaningfully portray and effectively communicate complex quantitative data in an easy-to-understand format is required.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, influence others, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines. Ability to work with a variety of personalities and skillsets
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing both to peers and senior management are required.
Proven experience with Sales and Marketing organizations and experience with pharmaceutical data sources e.g., IMS, WKH and Ipsos (Synovate) Chart Audits are preferred
Excellent project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing and changing priorities. Must have strong task management skills to include planning, prioritization, objective setting, and meeting management and plan execution.
Ability to travel up to 25% of time
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years’ Experience
OR
Master's Degree and Eight Years Experience
OR
PhD and Six Years Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of relevant pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience, including 5+ years of market research and/or strategic analysis and planning experience
Significant experience conducting quantitative and qualitative primary and secondary market research is required. Expertise in a broad range of qualitative and quantitative market research techniques, including appropriate application of data collection and analytic approaches. Experience with an injectable and/or long-acting medications is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
BA/BS degree required. PhD, MBA, or other advanced degree that is relevant to position is desirable.
Experience in life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotech industry strongly preferred
The salary range for this position is: $191,335.00 - $247,610.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
