Bring your talent and skills to Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Engineering team as part of the IIS National Defense Fellowship Program (NDFP).

About the NDFP program:
Seeking students at the beginning of their sophomore year (but program also open to juniors and seniors) who have the option to work part-time for Raytheon while going to school starting January 2020.
Upon program acceptance, participants will be submitted for a national security clearance. Once security clearance has been granted, interns will work part time during their junior and senior years, supporting Raytheon programs from the Southern Methodist University campus.
During Summer 2020, participants will work on-site at the Raytheon facility in Dallas, Texas completing an internship consisting of professional development, training, mentorship, and networking.
Participants will receive a $10,000 signing bonus upon acceptance to the program and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full-time employee status post-graduation.
Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain at Raytheon for a minimum of two years after becoming a full-time employee.

Work as a software developer and integrator as part of a development team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields. Specific duties include:
Responsible for performing development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms
Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, integrate and ensure they meet performance standards for stability and resource utilization
Develop software as necessary to integrate between components, perform new capabilities, to facilitate testing, etc.
Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code overage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews , and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code

Required Experience:
Computer Science students must have completed courses CS1050 and CS2050; other majors eligible through demonstrated programming experience
This position requires U.S. citizenship and the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Desired Experience:
Software development experience with Java, C++
Experience with scripting languages such as Javascript, Python or Ruby and familiarity with a Javascript framework such as AngularJS, jQuery, or Backbone.js
Experience with version control software such as Clearcase or GIT
Experience with continuous integration tools such as Hudson/Jenkins or Cruise Control
Experience or familiar with Agile development practices

Required Education
Must be currently attending the Southern Methodist University working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
Computer Science students must have completed courses CS1050 and CS2050; other majors eligible through demonstrated programming experience
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. (Please include your transcript with your resume)
Must have obtained Sophmore, Junior or Senior status as of summer 2020. This position will be hired at the appropriate salary grade based on completed hours of college credit towards the required degree.
Sophmore Intern (ST02 TechStudent-Sophomore) – must have completed 30 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2020.
Junior Intern (ST03 TechStudent–Junior) – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2020.
Senior Intern (ST04 TechStudent-Senior) – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2020.
