Joint Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing
Directs the development, implementation and evaluation of campus communications.
Applies understanding of the organization and how own area integrates with othersto achieve functional objectives
Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers inside and outside the function
Assists other managers as necessary
Develops and administers/implements policies, practices, and strategies for the function aligning with organizational policies and practices
Manages one or more generally homogeneous teams
Adapts departmental plans and priorities to meet short-and long-term service and/or operational objectives and address any resource and operational challenges
Provides direction and guidance regarding planning and implementation
Identifies and solves highly technical and operational problems
Evaluates current programs and policies to identify improvements and efficiencies
Understands and recognizes broader impact across the department/function
Impacts the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives
Guides and influences others either internally or externally to adopt a different point of view
Establishes and maintains relationships outside of the function within the university and/or externally
Develop and implement an comprehensive institutional marketing plan to support enrollment goals and improve brand sentiment with key stakeholders and audiences
Recommend and implement marketing tools to track success and return on investment, providing frequent reports on activities and outcomes to executive leadership
Use market research and enrollment data to define marketing strategy and messaging segmentation in order to expand the University’s reach
Provide thought leadership to campus colleagues on creative marketing approaches, messaging alignment and audience outreach
Hire, manage, develop and evaluate performance of direct reports; assure staff is compliant with University policies, procedures and expectations
Design, support and lead a marketing team that works collaboratively throughout the organization and across the institution
Maintain a working climate that attracts, retains, motivates, inspires and values staff members
Serve as a trusted source of the University’s marketing strategies, methods and tools
Manage relationships and work products from a variety of agency and vendor groups
Completes work guided by policies and departmental plan
Reports to Director II – Strategic Communications and Marketing (Director of Operations)
Manages professional employees and/or other staff supervisors
Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area
Salary Range: $62,000 - $118,752 annually

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Previous experience in higher education and/or national brand marketing strategy
Expertise in current and cutting-edge digital and mobile marketing tactics
Proven ability to create and distribute compelling messaging for different targeted audience groups
Demonstrable track record of developing and executing creative content across multiple marketing platforms (web, email, print, social media, mobile, etc.)
Previous experience leading a team of varied strengths in an collaborative organization
Prior responsibility for budget management of $1 million or more
